The Fort Edward Rescue Squad, Inc., a nonprofit organization, was established on July 23, 1956, to provide emergency medical services to the communities of Fort Edward, Hudson Falls, and Kingsbury in Washington County, New York
Operating from its headquarters at 75 Schuyler Street in Fort Edward, the squad has grown to include a diverse team of trained professionals, such as EMTs, paramedics, and critical care technicians. As of April 2024, the squad boasts 46 active members and operates a fleet of four ambulances and one ALS fly car, covering a service area of over 71 square miles with a population exceeding 29,000.
The squad's commitment to excellence is evident through its modern equipment, including Zoll X Series monitors and power stretchers with auto-loads. Additionally, the organization emphasizes community engagement and training, regularly conducting mass casualty drills and participating in regional events like the Lake Placid Ironman
